This is a great example of the ignorance born from those who CHOOSE to hide in one book instead of thinking for themselves and exploring all the other books in the library.
It is this kind of cult thinking that has held history hostage and continues to block the human race from moving toward world peace.

I'm a religious person who imagines God's toolkit as containing some interesting tools (like evolution for example). Taking all of scripture (anybody's) literally should not be possible for the thinking person who can easily find the inconsistencies from one chapter to the next. The 6000 year thing is clearly nonsense. Even the Christian musical liturgy explains why: "A thousand ages in thy sight are like an evening gone...".
