Kids are turning into......ho...ho ...Homos!!
Another example of alarm ism for the dwindling herds of sheeple.
"Wake up, parents. Public schools are no longer for the public. They're government institutions that think that you're children are their children -- and they are going to turn them into homosexual, bisexual, transsexual political activists. Just wait now until Harvey Milk is on a weekday next year, and it's going to be what? Anything goes. It could be gay pride parades on campus; it could be mock gay weddings on campus; it could be essays, mandatory homework saying why Harvey Milk, a bad guy, was a great guy. I mean, this is in-your-face stuff." - Christian hate group spokesbigot Randy Thomasson of Save California, who says that Harvey Milk Day will unleash a "tsunami of perversity" in public schools.
Don't listen to Hate Groups! They got it WRONG!!

Gates vs Perkins
Some day DADT will be repealed. So far so good according to the military. They have a web site that fully explains the rules and regulations as well as answering many good questions.
I feel it is spelled out very clearly. Check it out.
Now....
This is Defense Secretary Robert Gates, telling an anti-gay Marine to shove his bigotry.
"You'll have to complete your enlistment just like everybody else. The reality is that you don't all agree with each other on your politics, you don't agree with each other on your religion, you don't agree with each other on a lot of things. But you still serve together. And you work together. And you look out for each other. And that's all that matters. If we do this right, nothing will change. You will still have to abide by the same rules of behavior, the same discipline, the same respect for each other that has been the case through all the history of the Marine Corps."
I am thrilled with the whole thing!
This is how it should be and will be except for the few people that just can get over the fact that while they have been serving with gays and gays are everywhere and they are big tough Marine,s, They are afraid of gays.
They may be listening to this ass, Tony Perkins, and getting the wrong information.
"It's hard to believe that he made that statement with a straight face. After all the testimony and Pentagon scrutiny, it's incredibly disingenuous to suggest that the military won't be affected by repeal. Some leaders may be on board with the change, but even they recognize that it is change. If this were just business as usual, would the military be wasting hours on training? Would the Pentagon have deflected valuable resources to survey the troops?
"This isn't a change--it's a complete upheaval for the entire force. More than anyone, Secretary Gates should understand the major implications for the two million-plus active duty and reserve personnel. Whether the issue is as broad as religious freedom or as basic as bunks and bathrooms, forcing the military to embrace open homosexuality will have real and devastating consequences for the men and women in uniform." - Hate group leader Tony Perkins, denouncing Defense Secretary Robert Gates for telling an anti-gay Marine to get in line with the repeal of DADT.
Now, Tony is a leader of a Hate Group known as the Family Research Council and I will tell you again..
Don't listen to Hate Groups! They got it wrong!
I am sure he is on some blood pressure meds because when he gets started you would think his head would explode.
The military has it right. There will be few problems and those will not becoming from the gay soldiers.
Right now there is an abuse of DADT by an airmen who wants to an early seperation by claiming he is gay. This will stop. This will only be a funny scene in "Strips".

Two more Catholic Adoption Agencies Close Their Doors
Please note the statements I highlighted and check out the comments below.
Two more Catholic adoption agencies in Illinois have decided to close their doors rather than comply with the state's new civil unions law. They'd rather see children go without families.
A single person of any orientation can foster and/or adopt and the CC claims the single persons orientation is none of their business.
A couple in a committed relationship but are not married, gay or str8, can not.
Civil Unions are not marriage.
Ok, outside of the fact that it is kind of creepy that any single person can foster and or adopt and orientation is not a question, the loop hole is that only str8 couples can get married leaving gay couples ineligible.
So what happens if a single gay person adopts a child and later meets the person of their dreams? Does the CC take the child back or do they remove the foster child?
If they allow a single person to adopt, doesn't this go against the "Kids need and mom and dad" meme? It is ok to give a child to a single person with no questions about orientation but it is not ok to give a child to a loving couple , thus giving the child 2 parents.
You know....maybe it is a good thing these people are getting out of the business. It must be very confusing to keep up with the dogma.
Two more Catholic adoption agencies in Illinois have decided to close their doors rather than comply with the state's new civil unions law. They'd rather see children go without families.
Glenn Van Cura, executive director of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Joliet, told The Advocate that his office is not accepting applications for new foster care or adoptive parents pending further clarification from the governor and attorney general's office. "What we want to make clear is that according to our beliefs, with any cohabitating couple, whether homosexual or heterosexual, we don't refer to licensing. It's just part of our social teaching," Van Cura said. Single individuals, whether gay or straight, have been eligible to become foster or adoptive parents, however. "We don't ask, nor is it any of our business," Van Cura said of a single applicant's sexual orientation. In a letter this week to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, Catholic Charities of Peoria CEO Tricia C. Fox wrote that the suspension could be lifted if the state amended the civil unions law to allow religious services to refer same-sex couples elsewhere.I have read this several times and I do want to get this right. I think it is important to understand just where the Catholic Charities are coming from.

Warning! Gay Day at Disney!

ORANGE COUNTY, FL (WESH/CNN) – A Christian group is protesting the annual "Gay Day" by flying a banner plane over Disney World with a warning message for visitors.
The six day celebration for gay pride is a 20 year celebration, held in Orlando, FL, with Saturday spent at the Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom.
"It's just about people being proud of who they are here," said Gay day participant, Floyd Benefield.
With the 160,000 people visiting central Florida to celebrate, Florida Family Association is boycotting and spending $7,000 to fly banners for two full days near Disney, warning unsuspected families of the festivities.
Event participants say both sides should respect their differences.
"Gay Day" brings an estimated $150 million to the area, and some say the opposition to their sexual orientation will not keep them away.
"They really don't have a grasp of what it means to be tolerant of people that are different from you," Benefield said.
Florida Family Association claims thousands of people enter the park, then turn around, and leave when they see the same sex couples, saying mainstream America is offended. Disney and event organizers say that's just not true.
Gay Day started in 1991, as a single day in June, for the gay community to "Wear Red and Be Seen" while visiting the world's most popular theme park, it then evolved into a week-long, area-wide celebration.
Cedar Point is the place for Gay Day in Ohio, held on the same day. It has been almost 20 years since I went. We all found the brightest colors as well as lots of red and had a blast.
The first time I went, I had never been to any Pride event so this was the largest group of LGBT folks I had been with. I was so great to have "Family" all around.
It happens to be Fathers Day and the place is full of families. Everyone was nice and there to have fun. Cedar Point still has Gay Day and there has never been a problem.
As far as I'm concerned, the banner was good advertisement for a great day for all Families.

Fundie video break: gay adoption = children losing their parents on 9/11
Is this some shit or WHAT?! How can anyone compare a loving family with children who are wanted to a child who lost their parents? This is sick.
Arrested for Dancing at The Thomas Jefferson Memorial

Dr. Jack Kevorkian has Died
Assisted suicide advocate Dr. Jack Kevorkian has died of a pulmonary thrombosis at the age of 84. Kevorkian claims to have helped over 100 terminally ill patients end their lives. He spent eight years in prison for doing so.
I thought he was a brave man of many talents who helped end the suffering and pain of the terminally ill.
It is sad that we can end the suffering of our family pets because it is humane but we have to watch and listen to the suffering of our family members until they finally pass. We can not watch a dog writhe in pain but we will watch a human.
As well as being a man of compassion, Jack Kevorkian was also a painter and jazz composer.

Meeting a new Friend
Yesterday while I was looking for the door to Office Max, I met a new friend.
I was in need of directions and asked the only person on the street if he could help me. While the sign was on one side of the building, the door was on the other. He said he had to go there too so we walked together enjoying the breeze and conversation.
He has a friendly voice and a big smile. It did not take long to discover many common threads. We are both artists, have children, are the same age and sign, and are married.
After about a half hour of good conversation before shopping we made several other discoveries.
He is a Christian. I am Pagan.
He does not believe in homosexuality. I am gay.
He believes it is a choice, a wrong one. I was born this way and think it is right for me.
He feels it is not his place to judge, that belongs to God. I am cool with that.
Then he said something that truly set him apart from the pack. He can not live with hate in his heart because he would have missed out on meeting such a nice person.
We went back to talking art and I gave him my card.
We shook hands, thanked each other for the help and great conversation, and wished each other well.
While I shopped, I wished more people with opposing views could get along this well.
Thank you Larry

Tony Perkins (Hate Group Hot Head)- Religious Freedom
"The so-called Religious Freedom Protection and Civil Union Act has already done more harm to religious freedom than good. The Roman Catholic diocese in Rockford has announced that it will close its doors on the church's adoption program before subjecting children to placement in homosexual homes. Like it did in Massachusetts and Washington, D.C., the Catholic Church refused to violate its convictions. Unfortunately, it's only a matter of time before other dioceses follow suit. For the church, this is an act of self-defense. Without a religious exemption, the law makes programs like this one vulnerable to lawsuits or state budget cuts. Much to the frustration of the bill's own sponsor, the state refused to carve out special protections for the religious organizations like this one. And now the state's neediest children will be paying for it." - Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council.
The Catholic church is free to run their adoption program any way they want as long as they do not take public funds. Of course, you may be short of cash after all the lawyer fees and settlements paid out for abusing kids. Maybe it's a good thing the church gets out of any business that has to do with kids.
Interesting that when I want the SAME rights to be free from discrimination, you call it special rights when they are not. Now you want SPECIAL rights so you can discriminate.
The sad part is not only are children suffering, but as far as I know, no other group has stepped up to take over where the Catholic church has dropped the ball.

Discharged Under DADT - This NEEDS to STOP
Chris Geidner broke the story:
You need to stop this now. There is no excuse.
An Air Force spokesman confirmed today that the secretary of the Air Force approved a discharge under the military's ''Don't Ask, Don't Tell'' policy on April 29 of this year. The discharge, according to a Pentagon spokeswoman, is the only such discharge since the Pentagon on Oct. 21, 2010, directed that DADT discharges would require the approval of the service branch secretary.SLDN's reaction:
Today Army Veteran and Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (SLDN) Executive Director Aubrey Sarvis released the following statement in response to reports confirmed by sources in the Pentagon and Air Force that an airman was discharged under the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT) law on April 29, 2011:Mr. President,
“This discharge underscores the need for the President, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and the Secretary of Defense to certify ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ repeal and put this ugly chapter in American history behind us. It also highlights the undeniable and unfortunate fact that service members remain under investigation and at risk of discharge.”
You need to stop this now. There is no excuse.

HRC's Whimpy Anti Bully Ad- Another Whiiiinnnnner
This is just the kind of crap I am talking about folks. Bullies can't wait for you to whine "Stooopp it or Im gone to tell".
While I am not a violent person, even I know if I want a bully to leave me alone I will have to fight back. Show no fear, start chasing them, act like you are crazy, KICK them where it counts!
"Blunt and to the POINT" is my response to the hate and lies being spread around by Hate Groups about LGBT people. These are the kinds of things I would like to see next to their spots telling you how bad we are.
Coming soon...Indoctrination and Religious Freedom

Being openly gay has nothing to do with talking about sexual intercourse
cross post from Holy Bullies and Headless Monsters
One News Now columnist Peter Heck typifies the willful ignorance some folks have about the lgbt community.
Recently he put this ignorance on display in a piece in which he attacked CNN anchor Don Lemon for coming out. Heck then proceeded to write a long rambling piece further criticizing Lemon, American culture, former NBA star Charles Barkeley, and even Lady Gaga, calling her "vile and perverted."
The meat of Heck's rambling is best seen in the following passage:
How many of us have heard that ridiculous notion - i.e. homosexuality is all about sexual intercourse. Why do you tell anyone who you are sleeping with?
Even when someone folks try to show the lgbt community support, they succumb to the ignorance when they say things like "I don't care who so-and-so is sleeping with."
Being an lgbt goes way beyond sexual intercourse and behavior. It's a point we need to press consistently. Announcing that you are gay is not automatically giving someone a window into your bedroom. And being honest about your sexual orientation does not mean that you are going to regal people with your sexual prowess.
Part of the difficulty lgbts face in this world is people like Heck willfully trying to connect being an lgbt with thoughtless hedonistic behavior, hence the constant tired strain that "homosexuality is a lifestyle."
Well I'm gay and my life has less to do with sexual hijinks and more to do with getting up every day, working, etc. - you know, normal stuff. And to the millions of lgbts - especially lgbt couples and individuals taking care of children - it's pretty much the same thing.
Being an lgbt is no different than being a heterosexual. Being open and honest about your lgbt orientation is about honesty and living your life without fear.
You do not choose to be gay and being open about your orientation does not mean that you are choosing to talk about your sex life.
Ignorance, however, is a choice. It's a point that Heck has made abundantly clear.

The meat of Heck's rambling is best seen in the following passage:
. . . why do the very people who constantly tell us that what a person does in their bedroom is no one else's business, simultaneously find it necessary to inform everyone of what they do in their bedroom? If this is a private matter, Don, then let's keep it private. Perhaps I'm the only one who feels this way, but frankly, I don't care to know what kind of sex the evening news anchor is into. Beyond it being remarkably irrelevant to the dissemination of news, it's just kind of creepy that these proponents of sexual anarchy feel it is their civic duty to incessantly shove their unconventional behavior in front of our children's faces.

I can not tell you how many times I have come out to a friend or coworker and the first thing they do is start telling me about their sex life!
I am NOT interested in your bedroom activities and refuse to tell you about mine. I am NOT Dr. Ruth so please do not ask me sex questions. Just because I am LGBT does not make me an encyclopedia on on sex.
Coming out means I want to tell you I am not alone, so stop trying to fix me up. I am married and have a family.
I want to tell you about the vacation WE took or the beautiful wedding WE had, not how I pleasure my spouse. That is none of your business.
