The Right has been bad mouthing Harvey Milk and the upcoming Harvey Milk Day in California. Jerry Cox of the Arkansas Family Council is saying that the holiday would force students to hold "mock gay weddings" and "cross dress." They even have a video out that tries to scare parents into keeping their kids home that day. I am not going to post the video and give them any air time.
What I do have is a video of hope. Harvey Milk was a leader and is an icon for the LGBT population. He was elected into office as an out gay man and that did not sit well with some.
As with all great men, he died to soon. He was assassinated. His legacy lives on and keeps us focused.
