Gay History in School?!!

Teaching LGBT history is going to make our kids gay!   It is sexual brainwashing!

Randy Thomasson of the Hate Group, Save California says that to teach kids that being LGBT is natural is a lie. Calling it  Sexual indoctrination. This is leading children astray and Jesus calls sin.

Michael Reagan (Son of a former President)- Should not the 'contributions' of convicted thieves be celebrated? Or those of serial killers? Or embezzlers? ( Don't you just love being compared to serial killers?)
Linda Harvey: Teacher Unions Are Paying Children To Become Homosexual

They will impose their "homosexual  agenda" on kindergartner's!

They will teach our grade schools children about gay sex!

This is what misinformed sheeple are saying .

Now the truth....

Equality California's  statement to Gov. Jerry Brown as to why he should sign the bill.
"As a community we must convince Governor Brown to sign the FAIR Education Act (SB 48 - Leno). We don't have a lot of time. Please email him today. http://tinyurl.com/sb48-b . This critical bill would ensure that students in public schools learn about the LGBT civil rights movement and the contributions of LGBT people to other movements and to society. With this bill, we will have the opportunity to define who we are, instead of being defined by harmful messages filled with bigotry that dehumanize us. We believe that learning about the heroic struggles of LGBT individuals and our diverse LGBT communities brings an understanding that prevents violence against our LGBT youth and those perceived as LGBT regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. We are shifting the conversation. Instead of being stigmatized, marginalized and demonized, people will understand that we have a proud legacy and heritage of struggle and contribution.

Wikipedia's Timeline of LGBT history is a wonderful source that dates back to the 10th millennium BC. It chronicles our existence, art, persecution, discrimination, civil rights, gains and losses, and all the LGBT people involved.
Just a short list:
Military leader Alexander the Great, who was bisexual

27 BC – The Roman Empire begins with the reign of Augustus. The first recorded same-sex marriages occur during this period.

Nero becomes Emperor of Rome. Nero married two men in legal ceremonies, with at least one spouse accorded the same honours as a Caesar's wife.

The Christian emperor Justinian I (527–565) made homosexuals a scapegoat for problems such as "famines, earthquakes, and pestilences."

The term "Crime against nature" first used in the Criminal code in the United States.

Florentine court records of 1476 show that Leonardo Da Vinci and three other young men were charged with sodomy, and acquitted.

1895 – The trial of Oscar Wilde results in his being prosecuted under the Criminal Law Amendment Act 1885 for "gross indecency" and sentenced to two years at hard labor in prison.

1913 – The word faggot is first used in print in reference to gays in a vocabulary of criminal slang published in Portland, Oregon: "All the fagots [sic] (sissies) will be dressed in drag at the ball tonight".

1924 – The first homosexual rights organization in America is founded by Henry Gerber in ChicagoThe Society for Human Rights.[46] The group exists for a few months before disbanding under police pressure.

1933 – The National Socialist German Workers Party bans homosexual groups. Homosexuals are sent to concentration camps.

1937 – The first use of the pink triangle for gay men in Nazi concentration camps.

1952Christine Jorgensen becomes the first widely-publicized person to have undergone sex reassignment surgery, in this case, male to female, creating a world-wide sensation.

1958 – The United States Supreme Court rules in favor of the First Amendment rights of a gay and lesbian magazine, marking the first time the United States Supreme Court had ruled on a case involving homosexuality.

The Student Homophile League at Columbia University is the first institutionally recognized gay student group in the United States.

1973 – The American Psychiatric Association removes homosexuality from its Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-II), based largely on the research and advocacy of Evelyn Hooker.

Our LGBT history is tightly woven into the fabric of all human history. Up til now, it has been invisible to everyone.
Making our thread visible will show the next generations that being LGBT is part of the human experience and it is OK to be the human you are. It will help make LGBT people less of a threat and foster tolerance for those of us who are different. Greater education and understanding leads to less fear, bullying, and violence.

Our history is not over. We are part of it NOW.

It will be good to not be defined by my orientation but by my contributions.
