Gays are Worse Than Murders at Your Wedding!

As you know, over 800 LGBT couples won a lottery to get married across New York Sunday.
It was a truly blessed day and I  shed tears of joy for all those happy couples.

There are those who wished to put a damper on this historic day by showing up with signs and loud speakers.

Most of the mainstream news carried a segment about this beautiful day of love and the long over due chance to jump the broom while little attention was given to the poor shlubs across the street. They were a mere blurb in the end.

The Phelps clan from the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) arrived to show off their colorful signs about what they think God has to say about everybody but them. A rainbow of umbrellas went up to block the view so the happy couples did not have to be bothered by their vulgar signage.

My! Such a small cage for the dogs of war.
These umbrellas offered more than shade.

Shortly after the WBC set up, the National Org. for Marriage (NOM) and their leader Maggie Ziffel arrived by the bus loads. ( I am guessing they could not find enough New Yorkers to come so they had to bus folks in.) Most of the 12 or so buses proudly displayed "Rainbow Transit" on the side. Oh the irony!

The Jewish community joined the party with signs like this...

So after may pages of this historic day I felt it necessary to mention something from the other side for a "fair and balanced" report. So here is my blurb which is more than they deserve.

I would like to finish with what I think was the most touching of all weddings...

Phyllis Siegal, 77, and Connie Kopelov, 85 get married after 20 years together.
